Directions: To make the rice, drain the soaked rice and place it in a large microwave-safe bowl. Add the water, oil, bay leaf, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, salt and turmeric. Microwave on high for 18 minutes or until the rice is cooked. Fluff with a fork and set aside. To make the vegetable masala, heat oil in another microwave-safe bowl and add the onion.
